My research as a graduate student at Chicago State University focused on community violence exposure for African American children and adolescents in impoverished communities. I hope to write an article on my research that demonstrates how inequality, racism, and discrimination are the cause for the cycle of correlation between community violence and mental health effects for African American children and adolescents that will hopefully lead to the implementation of prevention and intervention strategies.
I love the simple things in life, spending time with family and friends, cooking, listening to R&B and soul music of the 70s.
