Anika Fonson, Ph.D.

OUTPATIENT THERAPIST

Dr. Fonson earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology at Walden University.  She successfully finished her practicum and internship at H.E.L.P.  LLC and previously held a position at Light on Anxiety, where she focused on providing specialized treatment for adults with anxiety. Her extensive knowledge lies in working with adults and older adolescents, with a focus on treating Generalized Anxiety, Social Anxiety and related disorders, Depression, and Adult ADHD. Dr. Fonson strives to build a strong therapeutic relationship by using a collaborative approach that considers the individual needs and personal backgrounds of every individual. She strongly believes in working with clients and empowering them to participate actively in their progress and success. Dr. Fonson is committed to helping individuals identify and actively work towards their goals while creating a caring and empathetic therapeutic environment. She strives to empower clients by giving them the tools and confidence to live more fulfilling lives.

Dr. Fonson firmly believes that success is achieved through hard work, but also through self-care and balance. Throughout her doctoral studies, she encountered numerous challenges that could have deterred her. However, she persevered, understanding that those who give up never taste victory. Her dedication to hard work is matched by her unwavering belief in the importance of self-care and finding joy in life. She consciously strives to balance her professional and personal life, recognizing that this equilibrium is vital for her overall well-being and success. To maintain this balance, she engages in activities such as attending family gatherings, socializing and spending quality time with loved ones, participating in spin classes for physical fitness, and finding solace through walking and meditation by the lakefront.
